User Experience Success Secret

User Experience Success Secret

Many times we feel how to make user experience a success for our products and services. Many times we fail to do that and some times the product becomes a success. Have you ever thought what makes a product successful, yeah i agree MARKETING and SEO is the key – apart from that what is it essential that makes it a success.

Yes come on think a bit… yeah Designer agreed a good designer can make or break your product or website. Hiring a good designer is like selecting beer from the beer cellar. OK question to the designer community – how can you be a good designer ?

Well to be good you have to be good, in your knowledge and your application of knowledge in the right place. I will tell one more important aspect that is COMMUNICATION. Communication is the key for success in design delivery, understanding the needs is not possible unless the designer is good in communication. Asking the right questions to the correct person will lead to design conclusions.

Levels of communication

1. Communication between the product and the designer – what i am talking ? Yeah it make sense too. Product communicating to the designer? No i am not sitting with a Beer guys, i am in my senses. See … when we are designing software’s/web apps we communicate to the design and try to understand what will work and what will fail drastically. Looking at a web-page we sense a level of communication.

2. Client communication – Is vital to understand what the client is looking for. Missing the details will be a catastrophic situation. You made A & client is looking for B. This will not help any of you.

3. User communication – Talking to the user is an art, making them comfortable and important for design. And in reality they are important, if they are not there who is going to Use the app/websites. Documenting there needs is vital here.

4. Competition communication - Competition in market will make you run bare foot if you are not prepared to handle it well. Getting the vibes and sensing where we are going can take you to new levels of success.

New Client: Recent wire-frame design using Protoshare

New Client: Recent wire-frame design using Protoshare

We were approached by a prospective client to develop wire frames for their medical application. We got the project easily as User Experience Design is our strength. The client was using Protoshare tool for wire-framing and prototyping. I agree i have never worked on Protoshare tool before. So we proposed a learning cure here, communicated to client that we need few hours to check protoshare tool and we can deliver on time.

Ohhh…. the best part client accepted our suggestion and we started work. Oh results? Yes we came with flying colors. We have documented the Protoshare learning in a blog post. If you can read that you will also be able to work well with this tool.

Blog post: Protshare review – use template in protoshare

Few screens shots of out work

Working Tabs for effective navigation

Intuitive and clean form - easy task completion

Pop-ups to display information and take decisions

Learning from project

Its good to be clean n clear with what is going in your mind. Letting the client know that this will be our first time with Protoshare was a good idea. As we believe in transparency and good conduct. As our Design DNA we believe being good and working together is excellent way to make things happen for GOOD.
